Basywater have too much for Armadale

Bayswater City produced a second-half show of strength at Alfred Skeet Oval on Saturday to leave Armadale second from bottom in the NPL WA with seven matches to play.

Goals from Daryl Nicol, a Michael Lawson own goal and Gustavo Giron Marulanda secured a 3-0 win for Chris Coyne’s side, who sit third in the table.

Nicol’s goal came three minutes after the break. A throw down the left from Ross Millard found the feet of Gordon Smith, who turned his marker Josh Kuser before putting the ball to the front of the six-yard box where Nicol reacted fastest to score.

The second came when Armadale switched off following a substitution, and Giordano Colli’s corner was turned home by Lawson with Smith near by.

Armadale looked short on confidence and they were the architects of their own downfall again on 81 minutes when they were caught in possession and Marulanda nipped in to make it three.

It could have been worse for Armadale but Nicol blazed over when falling backwards after his initial header had been well saved by Sam Hutchings.

Bayswater head to league leaders Perth SC in Round 16, while Armadale, just four points off the bottom, are at Inglewood United.
